PABLO ARAGONA QUINTET

Drummer

Composer

Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, drummer and multi-instrumentalist Pablo Aragona has been touring and recording since 2008 with artists and musicians from all over the world.

He created the Pablo Aragona Quintet in 2016 and after a few years playing in different venues around the Buenos Aires music scene he decided to record an EP called “Baco”. It includes five original compositions Pablo wrote specifically for this format.

In 2020 Pablo moved to Orlando Florida where he began (and continues to) produce, record and play music for a variety of international  artists . In 2021, Pablo put together the quintet again, but this time with some of the  finest  local musicians in the Orlando music scene. Together they started playing and recording  in  the Central Florida area. They recorded a second EP in 2022 entitled “Yikes” and in 2023, they had many concerts across Florida, and released a live album recorded at the Blue Bamboo Center for the Arts in Orlando.

The Pablo Aragona Quintet is known for the improvisational skills of its members and the ability to create  a distinct sound that blends together influences from Latin American music, tango, soul, jazz, funk, and classical music. The  quintet brings to every performance an adventurous  spirit, an eclectic  palette,  and a gift  for spontaneous invention.

Pablo’s compositions incorporate  an innovative  sound of electric jazz and boundary-stretching electronic music, while still providing the listener with a catchy melody that is familiar and pleasant to the ears.

A native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, Pablo pays homage to the capital city of Tango music in his performances. As part of the repertoire, the Quintet performs an arrangement of two compositions by the  iconic  Argentinian Tango composer Astor Piazzolla, “Libertango” and “Adios Nonino.”

The Quintet has been performing and recording regularly since 2018, but 2024 is particularly significant with two newsingles out earlier this year and two being released later in the year. The Quintet is  experiencing growth  in support and recognition in the Florida music  scene.  The Pablo Aragona Quintet just participated in the Jacksonville Jazz Festival sharing the stage with major artists such as Stanley Clarke, Chucho Valdez, and Joss Stone.
